Welcome to the lab of the Red-Headed Philosopher, your destination for Kansas City’s extraordinary coffee!  We might seem like mad scientists, but we are extremely passionate about roasting specialty coffee.  We are proud to be recent winners of Kansas City’s first ever home-roasting competition.  Our mission is to awaken as many people as possible to the experience of freshly roasted specialty coffee, while also encouraging them to explore the mysteries of life, seeing past all “limits” to the infinite possibilities in life.

When the Red-Headed Philosopher is not busy with his nose in a book, or staring at the stars, he loves using his mad skills to roast up some of the finest and freshest coffee available. Coffee is best experienced when enjoyed within two weeks after roasting.  Therefore, most coffee found in stores is stale before it even reaches the shelf.  We want to transform your blah coffee experience into a WOW moment.
We buy only the highest quality green coffee beans from a company that pays from 50-100% over the fair trade minimum, directly to the farmers.  It is important that these farmers receive fair wages to support their families. When you purchase our specialty coffee, you are helping support coffee farmers and their families.

Coffee, when freshly roasted, is a complex beverage, similar to a fine wine. Each bag of our specialty coffee is roasted to a specific roast level to bring out the unique characteristics of the coffee’s origin.   We are a small Kansas City coffee roasting company that cares about providing the freshest coffee, which will send your head spinning and your taste buds dancing!
